It’s ironic how “the greatest country in the world” isn’t able to get covid19 under control like other 3rd world countries simply because they deal with epidemics more often. Yet I do see things getting better in my neighborhood and neaby zip codes because people are still face covered. Back in March, no one was really covered, so it caught us by surprise. That’s all. If we knew about it sooner, and covered our faces, it wouldn’t have hit America as hard as it did. Ignorance is not bliss.
We’re not in the clear. Yet people are hanging out at beaches uncovered and the protests are still going on as per George Floyd. I understand he was dealt an injustice, but now is not the time to be standing within inches of each other even with face masks. I don’t think George would’ve wanted that. The mask isn’t a guarantee you won’t get covid19, that’s why the CDC tells us we still need to social distance despite the masks as extra precaution. The irony “I can’t breathe” is that, yes, many of these people are probably going to die of asphyxiation due to corona as pnemonia sets in and suffocates you to death. Quantity and duration of exposure is one way this virus gets you. The constant bombardment of the virus coming in contact with your body, overwhelming your immune system, is why doctors and meat factory workers get sick.
